Reception Concept Design

Hayden Voice, UCOL’s Bachelor of Creative Media student, was given the task to help make Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS) waiting room and reception a more welcoming and comforting space for those using the spaces.

Working with the client, and designing the space to be user friendly and non-judgmental, Hayden looked into aspects such as sight and sound by talking to those used the space, and implemented features such as furniture, colour and lighting to help achieve the desired outcome.

“One skill that I learned a lot from throughout this project was working towards my intended target audience and making judgement based on what best works with that audience. Ensuring that the space was user friendly and respectful for those that are going to be using this space now and in the future.” says Hayden.
