Manawatū Māori Rugby Apparel

This project’s purpose was to create a new rugby jersey design for the Manawatū Māori Rugby Tane team, for use in their upcoming seasons.

“The aim, for me, was to create a design that represented the connection these players had with those that played before them, and those that will play after them” says Heneriata Te Whata, Bachelor of Creative Media. In doing so, this design also portrayed the mana with which these players carried themselves.

“I really enjoyed working with this client. Communication and a willingness to think outside the box made this project exciting and fun. They gave me the opportunity to work on my research and development skills, and also introduced me to a new way of thinking and creating.”
