New Zealand Red Cross

New Zealand Red Cross is a humanitarian organization with more than 15,000 members and volunteers. They deliver community services such as Meals on Wheels, community transport, refugee services, first aid courses, and emergency management operations. Bhavesh Patel, a UCOL Graduate Diploma in Operations and Productions student, completed his internship here.

“My main role at Red Cross was to maintain documentation of all the Meals on Wheels records, file documents regarding the services, and contact drivers to remind them of their schedules,” explains Bhavesh.

Bhavesh also worked in other areas including the management department, book sorting and refugee consultation. “During my internship I had lots of involvement with refugee services and charity events, which I enjoyed”

This internship opportunity helped Bhavesh enhance his technical and professional skills and he feels ready to take these into the industry.
