FMG Insurance Internship

Studying for his UCOL Bachelor of Information Communications Technology, Matthew took on an internship at FMG as part of his third year studies. FMG is New Zealand’s leading rural insurance provider and Matthew helped the Software Development Team achieve their goal of building a prototype QnA Artificial Intelligence Chatbot for their Claims Lodgement team.

During Matthew’s internship, he participated in online courses and learnt new techniques and skills to complete this task to a high standard.

“AI was new to FMG so I was able to create the QnA Chatbot all by myself, and with the support of my software supervisor at FMG, I successfully delivered a product that met the requirements of my internship,” says Matthew.

Matthew says that the internship felt like a really successful experience. “I completed the QnA Chatbot for the Claims Lodgement team, and received positive feedback from users.”
