Ruahine Whio Protectors

The Ruahine Whio Protectors comprises eight groups who are involved with predator trapping and other activities to help protect the blue ducks in the Ruahine Ranges.

Whio are a special species of duck, endemic to New Zealand that is at home on white water. It's estimated that there are 2,500 - 3,000 birds in New Zealand, and around six pairs in the Oroua Valley where the video was made.

The Ruahine Whio Protectors are always seeking more volunteers, so they approached The Workhub at UCOL to make an introductory video for them.
