Claudia Poor, a UCOL Bachelor of Nursing student, started her nine week clinical placement at Palmerston North’s City Doctors in May 2020. The clinic is one of the city’s busiest, and also offers after hours care.

“The best thing about being on placement is being a part of people’s healthcare journeys - and having the opportunity to put all the skills I’ve learnt into practice,” says Claudia. “I also loved being in such a supportive environment. My lecturers have been supporting me and challenging me to take all the opportunities and apply my knowledge. They’ve also helped me extend my learning by offering one-on-one teaching sessions.”
