Whanganui High School is a large school with around 1,600 students and more than 150 staff. Even on an average day, there’s a lot of IT support needed, so Connor joined Whanganui’s team as a part of his UCOL Bachelor of Information Communications Technology internship.

“Throughout the internship, I was providing software and hardware technical support to the students and staff,” says Connor.

For Connor, honing his communication skills and working with people was a big part of his internship. “I worked with teachers to fix their technical problems and I worked with students when their BYOD device had issues. It was quite varied.”

Connor completed multiple jobs in different areas and loved getting to explore different types of work. He says his time at Wanganui High School was a success.
